Commuter Services

Commuter Services is a program of the Florida Department of Transportation serving travelers who live or work in the 12-county region of Southwest Florida. They work with business to help their employees find a better way to get to work than driving by themselves. We provide employers with a turnkey solution, including program development, on-site events, marketing tools and incentive programs.

Commuter Services offers a variety of transportation/commute options:

Carpooling: Online ridematching makes finding someone to share the ride with fast, free, and easy.

Vanpooling: Seven to 15 employees ride together, freeing parking spaces, lowering commute costs, and aving your employees' time.

Preferential Parking: Offering carpoolers and vanpoolers dedicated parking spaces close to the building or in a special lot helps encourage participation and build enthusiasm for ride sharing.

Transit: Taking transit can be an excellent, efficient, and low-cost means of commuting.

Emergency Ride Home: Commuters who regularly use an alternative to driving alone are eligible for free taxi rides home from work when unforeseen emergencies arise, such as a personal illness or unscheduled overtime.

Teleworking: Employees who work remotely are more productive, more satisfied with their jobs, and have greater retention rates.

Flextime & Alternative Work Schedules: Employees with greater control over their start and stop times are more productive and less stressed; employers with flexible service hours can enhance customer service opportunities.
